Tool Maker/Designer-CNC Machinist

Industry: Automotive, Medical and aerospace.

My client located in the Wilmington MA area is seeking a Tool Maker/Designer-CNC Machinist. Client company is a very well established Manufacturer and leader in their product design.

Reports To: Tool Room Supervisor

Description:
Builds and/or repairs all manufacturing tooling from drawings or sketches using both manual and CNC machine tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and plan the build of tools from drawings, sketches or verbal communication.

2. Set up and operate machine tools including but not limited to; mills, grinders, lathes, saws, CNC mills, Wire and Sinker EDM, and hand tools to fabricate molds, dies, and fixtures.

3. Verifies dimensions using personal and/or company measuring tools to insure correct dimensions to print and/or Fraen Quality standards.

4. Assembles and disassembles tools as required to insure correct function of said tool before sending to internal and/or external customers.

5. Records all types of documentation associated with job and files them in accordance with tool room procedures.

6. Records all labor accurately on forms provided and submits them to supervisor weekly.

7. Provide continuous improvement and "lessons learned" recommendations to supervisor and manager

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years Tool/Mold building experience

Ability to setup and operate machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and saws.
Basic knowledge of CNC mills, sinker and wire EDMs.
Working knowledge of mold/tool building techniques and procedures.
Blueprint interpretation, understanding of tolerance specifications.
Must be highly organized and familiar with a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to handle multiple priorities are a necessity
Ability to troubleshoot tooling problems with processor
